Hey everyone, I'm officially in a position to lead the internal tools area at an international company ❤️ I really wanted to thank the community because it was after an event I attended with you that this light turned on for me, thanks so much for the content. Excited about this new phase!
I've been in the infrastructure area for 20 years, from installing OS with multiple CDs to today with a few clicks or apply in IaC files. I felt displaced when DevOps came into play, it seemed like there was no place in this 'world'. Over the years I saw the DevOps Engineer appear, become a position and I managed to fit in gradually. Now with the emergence of Platform Engineer I'm starting to feel back to my roots! The conversations and themes of this group are important to strengthen the role of this professional in Brazil's IT 'world'.
Sensational impact, the group always brings news making it easy to stay updated, there are always job openings being shared. Indescribable the amount of positive impacts that I don't even have words for.
I came from a development background and joining the community helped me better understand how to make an impact in platform engineering and learn more about the area. I went to the platform days event at C6 and it helped me connect with other people.

At the last Platform Rocks community event, I had an incredible experience worth sharing. Last year, I faced a major personal challenge: I was diagnosed with leukemia. It was an intense period of struggle, but with the support of family, friends, and an incredible medical team, I am now cured. This victory gave me a new perspective on life and a tremendous desire to seize every opportunity. Being present at the community event was more than special - it marked my return to in-person events and was a chance to dive into knowledge, exchange ideas with inspiring professionals, and connect with people who share the same passion for technology.
I discovered this community in July 2024 and since then it has been an excellent source of information and qualified discussions. I'm a public servant in the IT area and although it's often a distant reality compared to the private initiative, the challenges and solutions are generally quite close. The knowledge and experience of various people willing to grow together has achieved a positive impact on the individual and organizational journey of this community's participants.
Finding people who are going through the same challenges, being able to exchange experiences (virtually and in person) is wonderful. This way it's possible to understand the paths to follow, debate strategies and learn about important tools. In this world increasingly based on AI, having human connections is at least essential.
This journey is being incredible. By sharing ideas and challenges, we can learn a lot and also contribute. This content is much needed!!! Never stop!

I learned about Platform Engineering recently in a Product Arena course. That's when I found out about the community and got a spot for the meeting at C6 Bank. Despite having a background in technology and always being in contact with IT in my professional trajectory, it opened up a new universe of learning that I didn't know about! I liked the community organization and it came at a good time when I will be working more closely as a PM in technology.
I joined the community recently, but I really believe in the power of community, the strength of collaboration and I see this happening a lot in the groups.
